Eastleigh missed out on all three points on Good Friday as they could only manage a point at home to relegation threatened Welling United.

The visitors went down to ten men after 25 minutes as Welling’s Michael Bakare received a straight red for a two footed challenge on Dan Harding.

Chris Todd’s men couldn’t take advantage of this however as the visitor’s Michael McEntegart denied Matt Tubbs and Yemi Odubade, before Jack Midson also hit the crossbar for the hosts.

The Spitfires are now five points off that all important fifth spot as they travel to another relegation side Torquay United tomorrow (3pm kick off).

Eastleigh have had an extra day rest leading up to the game with Torquay travelling away to Dover on Saturday and it was a day to forger for Kevin Nicholson’s men.

Dover Athletic managed to put four past goalkeeper Brendan Moore before adding another one in the second as Torquay got thrashed 5-0.

The Devon club however were unbeaten in eight matches before that game so it is likely it will be a tough fixture for Todd’s men.
