While many of the Eastleigh team were swimming at the Vanessa Knight Memorial Meet two of the Eastleigh swimmers, Sam Sheppard and Oscar Cawdron, were swimming at the South East regional championships at Crawley.

The South East Regions is one of the toughest in the Country to compete at and while seven Club swimmers obtained at least consideration times, only Sam and Oscar qualified to compete.

Sam (aged 13) qualified for the regional championships, in 50, 100, 200 metre breaststroke following becoming the Hampshire County Champion in the 50 and 100 breaststroke which he won in February, along with a bronze in 50 metre fly.

At the Regional Championships,  Sam placed sixth in 50 metre breaststroke and seventh in the 200 with a huge 5 sec PB.

Oscar (aged 12), competing in his first Regional Championships also competed in the 50, 100 & 200 metre breaststroke gaining good PB’s in all three events coming  24th, 22nd and 17th in the region.

The Club is very proud of all the swimmers  in their achievements at these competitions.
