Eastleigh beat National League North side Halifax in the Emirates FA Cup second round replay to set up a third round tie away at Brentford.

Scott Wilson grabbed their first goal as he finished off a good ball across the box from striker James Constable after 43 minutes,

Mikael Mandron then converted a penalty to double the lead for Martin Allen’s Spitfires just before the break after Luke Coulson had been fouled by Josh MacDonald.

Halifax’s hopes of a goal were dashed when Scott Garner was sent off for elbowing Jai Reason late on.

Eastleigh travel to Championship side Brentford in the new year, where Allen  former clubs.
