Eastleigh’s only Assisted Living retirement development for the over 70s, Catherine Court, is opening its doors on 6th April for local retirees to get together for coffee and challenge their assumptions of what living in a retirement apartment is like.
Many people don’t know what Assisted Living is or that it could be an option that could help them to live independently longer into their later years. The staff at Catherine Court want to reach out to local people in their 70s who are possibly lonely or need extra care & support to show the possibilities of living in a retirement development, including the opportunity to meet new friends and have a great social life.
Nigel Mackenzie, Retirement Move’s Sales Representative for Hampshire, says
‘I show people around Catherine Court on a regular basis and they are always pleasantly surprised that it’s not what they were expecting in terms of a retirement place. The photos used on the property listings don’t portray the fun people have living there. Visitors comment on how friendly everyone is and how good the facilities are’
The coffee morning is being held from 10am-12pm on Thursday 6th April and will feature a prize draw to win £100 of John Lewis vouchers. Those who attend will also have the opportunity for a tour of the property to get a feel for it and what it has to offer.
Catherine Court has been carefully designed for people in their later years who want to continue living in their own home but need some extra support. It is situated in a great location, within walking distance of all the local amenities, and has landscaped gardens and a communal roof terrace. Owners have their own private apartment but there is communal lounge area for regular coffee mornings, movie nights, bingo and other social activities, as well as a restaurant where you can meet and dine with other residents.
