Blood and Valour, the all-new comic book retelling of the near-forgotten tales of Southampton’s legendary knight Sir Bevis, celebrated its inception in style with a launch event at Tec Hub Eastleigh.
The epic medieval fantasy comic revives the local tales of Sir Bevis of Hampton in comic book form, and is described as a story of love and loss, bravery and betrayal, honour and sacrifices. It is the story of a boy who must overcome great challenges and move out into the world to seek his destiny.
The comic is a collaboration between writer Matt Beames and illustrator Marcus Pullen, with cover illustrations and splash pages by internationally-renowned artist Guy Stauber, who has previously worked with Marvel and DC Comics.
The event launch was an opportunity for attendee’s to meet the team behind the comic and put questions to them in a Q&A session. Signed copies of Blood and Valour Volume #1 were available to purchase, along with limited edition merchandise.
The evening also featured a dramatic reading by Barton Peveril’s Alice White who read out the first nine pages of the comic, complete with epic music to set the scene.
