Mims Davies, Conservative MP for Eastleigh before 3rd May when Parliament was dissolved, connected with her elderly constituents at retirement development Catherine Court at a coffee morning held in April.
She visited Catherine Court on 8th April to see the development, which is the only private assisted living property in the area which provides independent living along with 24hr on-site support and extra care for the over 70s. Mims was also keen to meet residents and hear their views on local issues.
She was also interested to speak to the house manager and care staff, particularly in light of her support of carers in the community and her work on the Government’s Carer strategy.
The coffee morning was held before the General Election announcement, but it will undoubtedly help show Mims’ some support of the older members of the Eastleigh community.
Mims says on her website that she welcomes the General Election as it offers
‘an opportunity for the people of Eastleigh to vote for a plan for our area which delivers better air quality, better roads and stops the Council’s destruction of our countryside.’
