A newly formed junior team is entering its first season on a high after sealing a new sponsorship deal with national housebuilder Bloor Homes.
Sholing Reds FC Under 7s will be sporting a brand-new kit to compete in the Eastleigh and District Mini Soccer League in Southampton, courtesy of the developer. Bloor Homes is currently building on land off Winchester
Road, Botley where its Boorley Park development offers a selection of two, three and four-bedroom carefully designed homes.
The team has been together since May this year and has played friendly games along with weekly training over the summer, in preparation for the start of the season in early September.
Dale Palmer, Manager of Sholing Reds FC Under 7s, said:
‘We are extremely grateful for the sponsorship provided by Bloor Homes, which has given us the opportunity to purchase the Reds new kit and has caused an incredible excitement throughout the team.
‘It was great to see how happy the players were when they put the kit on for the first time. You could see their confidence grow and they are proud to wear it.
‘The next challenge we face is to get the boys reading the games as they are happening and respond accordingly to the situations they will find themselves in. Many thanks to Bloor Homes as we hope to do them proud over the season and build a strong partnership.’
Luke Southgate, Regional Sales Director at Bloor Homes Southern, said:
‘At Bloor Homes we always like to support the communities where we build, so we are thrilled to be the first sponsors of the newly formed Sholing Reds FC Under 7s team.
‘With Boorley Park located close to where the team will be playing, it’s an ideal partnership and we wish the youngsters the best of luck in their debut season.’
