Eastleigh draw 0-0 at home to FC Halifax Town


Andy Hessenthaler’s Spitfires drew 0-0 at home To FC Halifax Town on Saturday as Eastleigh ended their three game losing streak.

Eastleigh won a corner early on but it did not come to anything but The Spitfires looked up for it.
They won a corner moments after and it was all Eastleigh as Chris Zebroski had a shot saved after six minutes.

Zebroski looked sharp and he was possession in the Halifax box but the defense done well to deny him. Cavaghn Miley had a piledriver from the edge of the box but it just went wide.

Sam Matthews whipped in a great ball for Zebroski but his header went just wide.

Matthews had an effort himself midway through the first half but his curling shot went just over.

Eastleigh did have a scare after 36 minutes as Matty Kosylo was through on goal for the visitors but it was called offside.

There were no real chances in the game and the first half finished 0-0.

With James Constable on loan to Poole Town, Eastleigh were lacking some attacking options in the second half.

Paul McCallum failed to make contact with a Matthews cut-back as Eastleigh looked to press but the Shaymen held on to move five points clear of the relegation zone.

Ben Williamson, who came on for Zebroski, then got to the byline and cut the ball back for Obileye on the edge of the box, but he used his weaker left foot and the defender struck over the target.

One positive in the game was that it was the first game in over 20 games this season that Eastleigh kept a clean sheet.
