Goals from Gateshead’s Daniel Johnson and Jordan Burrow earned the hosts a comfortable victory against Eastleigh on Saturday in front of 612 spectators at the Gateshead International Stadium.
Johnson opened the scoring for Gateshead on the stroke of half-time, latching on to a flick-on from Burrow to score his 16th goal of the season.
Burrow did not know much about Gateshead’s second goal seven minutes into the second half – the ball bouncing off the striker in the box and looping into the net.
Mark Yeates had Eastleigh’s best second-half chances however it finished 2-0 to Gateshead. Eastleigh take on Ebbsfleet at home on Tuesday night as their Saturday home game against Macclesfield has been rescheduled to a 12.30 pm kick off and will be shown live on BT Sport.
