The outdoor paddling pool at Fleming Park, Eastleigh has opened for the summer following maintenance work.
The facility is provided by the Council in partnership with Places for People (who manage Places Leisure Eastleigh) and is popular with thousands of local families that flock to the pool and play area complex in sunny weather.
The paddling pool, that is free for the public to use, includes a number of water features for the children to enjoy and is also next to a large play area and sandpit providing an ideal facility for all the family.
In a press release Cabinet member Councillor Tonia Craig said:
“The paddling pool is a great local facility and is hugely popular with families with young children and of course it’s absolutely free for everyone to use.”
Parents are reminded that when they are visiting the paddling pool and enjoying the fine weather to take precautions to avoid harmful sun rays that can damage our skin and in particular that of young children. Some useful tips include using sunblock (minimum 15 SPF), wear a hat, seek the shade between 11am-3pm and to drink plenty of water.
It is also recommended that children playing in and around the paddling pool and play area wear suitable footwear. The facility has a number of sunshades on the site and also a number of holsters on the fence for people to bring their own sunshades or parasols.
The paddling pool, that benefits from a quality water chlorination and a filtration system, is open from 10am -7pm each day and will remain open all summer until early September.
