Street party shows ‘The best side of Eastleigh’

Residents in Eastleigh have celebrated the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with a street party and barbeques. Northlands Road was one of four road closures in the borough where residents, both young and old and from different walks of life, got together to decorate the street with bunting and bring their garden furniture out into the road so they could sit down and enjoy food and drink together.

Eastleigh MP Mims Davies dropped by to join residents in a toast to the happy couple and told Eastleigh News that she thought the event showed the community could still unite after recent divisive issues like the referendum and that this showed “the best side of Eastleigh.”
