Ben Strevens’ Eastleigh earned a point at home to Chesterfield on Saturday despite taking an early lead through Alex Wynter.
The Spitfires took the lead when a Mark Yeates corner was flicked on and Wynter headed in at the back post.
Minutes later Chesterfield goalkeeper Callum Burton pulled off a fine reflex save to keep out Paul McCallum’s powerful header from another Yeates corner.
And Chesterfield were level just before the break when Jordan Hallam placed the ball beyond the reach of Eastleigh goalkeeper Max Stryjek after being set up by Jerome Binnom-Williams.
Chesterfield went close several times in the second half, but could not find a winner.
Eastleigh travel away to Maidstone United tomorrow night as they look to extend their good run of form.
In other news, The Spitfires have been drawn away to Lewes or Hemel Hempstead Town in The FA Trophy on 15th December.
