Eastleigh Motorists start the New Year with lane closures and speed restrictions on the M27 that will last for the next two -and-a half years as the Motorway is ‘upgraded’ to a four lane ‘smart motorway’.
There will be lane closures overnight this week – and daytime closure from next Monday – between junctions 4 and 11 including key motorway access points for Eastleigh commuters at Junction 5 (Southampton Airport) and Junction 7 (Hedge End).
While the work is being carried out, lower speed limits will be enforced with cameras that measure average vehicle speed.
