Eastleigh win away to Aldershot in Hampshire derby

In form Paul McCallum scored two goals for Eastleigh

Eastleigh added to Aldershot’s winless run as Paul McCallum scored twice in three second-half minutes to fire Ben Strevens’ Spitfires to victory in a 3-1 victory.

Alex Finney lost possession to McCallum in his own area and the Eastleigh striker played in Danny Hollands to open the scoring.

After the interval Aldershot levelled when Regan Booty’s through ball unlocked Eastleigh’s defence and Bernard Mensah ran through to finish past Luke Southwood.

But Booty’s clearance then deflected into the path of McCallum, who placed expertly past Will Mannion.

And shortly after, McCallum added his second, heading into the top corner from Mark Yeates’ free-kick.

This win was even sweeter to the travelling supporters who walked to Aldershot for charity in aid of Autism Hampshire and you can still donate here.

Eastleigh are not just one point off the play-offs as they take on Braintree at home on Saturday at The Silverlake Stadium.
