Jack Hindle scored the only goal of the game as Ben Strevens’ Spitfires slipped to a narrow 1-0 defeat at home to in-form Barrow at The Silverlake Stadium.
In front of 1738 spectators, Barrow had the better of the early exchanges on a windy afternoon with John Rooney and Dan Jones both spurning decent opportunities.
Arguably Barrow got a deserved breakthrough on the half hour mark when Hindle took the ball around Eastleigh goalkeeper Luke Southwood to convert.
Eastleigh came close to an unlikely equaliser in added time when Jones deflected an Andrew Boyce cross narrowly over his own crossbar.
The Spitfires now take on Hartlepool United at home once again but not until Saturday 30th March as they look to get back to winning ways.
