Production company changes up The Point’s foyer

Spot On Productions is completely changing The Point’s foyer this week to bring Jason Robert Brown’s acclaimed song cycle to this intimate venue.

Songs For A New World has been a mainstay for musical theatre aficionados since it was originally staged Off-Broadway in 1995. It is an abstract musical performed by a cast of four, with a series of songs all connected by a theme: “the moment of decision”. Each song brings a unique story and character, which intertwine and develop throughout. The message of having to make a choice, take a stand, or turn around and go back is still very relevant for today’s audiences.

The Point is a much loved theatre in the heart of Eastleigh, but it’s being used in a way you’ve never seen it before. We are transforming the foyer, usually a busy social hub and cafe, into an intimate performance space creating a theatre in the round experience like no other.

Could this be the start of Hampshire’s fringe theatre landscape?

Catch Songs For A New World in The Point foyer from 20th – 22nd March.
