Eastleigh’s play-off chances suffered another setback as Dagenham & Redbridge beat The Spitfires 2-0 on Good Friday.
Goals from Ollie Harfield and Chike Kandi either side of half-time consigned seventh-placed Eastleigh to a fourth defeat in five games.
Dagenham & Redbridge went ahead in the 44th minute when Angelo Balanta’s cross was diverted home by Harfield.
The hosts doubled the lead seven minutes into the second half when Kandi nodded in after Harfield’s corner was flicked on.
Kandi went close to his second moments later as he was kept out by Spitfires goalkeeper Luke Southwood.
Eastleigh missed a late chance through Joe Jones and now sit just three points clear of eighth-placed Ebbsfleet with two games to go.Ben Strevens’ Spitfires take on Maidenhead United tomorrow on Easter Monday in their penultimate game of the season.
