Eastleigh FC have taken to social media to try to track down their tractor which was stolen from the Silverlake ground between 10 – 11 pm last night.
“Unfortunately, last night was broken in to and our ISEKI tractor was stolen. Please could everyone retweet and spread the word. Fingers crossed we are able to track it down!”
As well as the SOS the club have posted CCTV video clips of the vehicle being loaded on to a flat-bed truck and being driven away.
The tractor is reported to be worth £19,000.
Dan Barnes, Head Groundsman said;
“The club as a whole are gutted by these developments.“Mindless thieves haven taken a very valuable piece of machinery, one of which is used on a regular basis to carry out pitch maintenance operations and general works around the ground.“There is no good time to be exposed to something like this, however the timing couldn’t of been worse. With the end of season pitch renovations starting as soon as next Monday, the tractor was one of the main pieces of equipment to be used to carry out the works.“The support we have received from people within the industry has been incredibly humbling and hugely appreciated. We can only thank all of those who have shared information in order to help us trace the tractor.”
Anyone with information that could help recover the tractor should phone the police on 101.
