Eastleigh Football Club have announced plans to take their ladies’ team into the FA Women’s National League, which includes playing home matches at The Silverlake Stadium and brand new bespoke team wear, bringing parity between their men’s and ladies’ sides.
From the 2019/2020 season, the women will play all home games at The Silverlake Stadium, benefiting from the facilities of a professional football stadium and an elite playing surface. Whilst brand new bespoke match kit and training wear will be provided courtesy of the clubs new kit partnership with Live and Breathe Sports.
The move reinforces the clubs commitment to the women’s game and builds on the great work already achieved by the Eastleigh Ladies and Girls development set-up, which now has over 130 members, across multiple age groups, and secures the long-term future of the Eastleigh Ladies team.
Speaking about the plan, Kenny Amor, Eastleigh FC Chief Executive said:
“The investment in our ladies’ team represents the clubs ongoing commitment to growing and expanding its ladies and girls development set-up, by providing the infrastructure for talented local players to reach their potential, as well as achieving the future goal of competing in the FA Women’s National League.”
The club hopes these changes will help attract the best local talent and help them achieve their ambition of becoming an FA Women’s National League club, within the next few seasons.
Eastleigh Ladies have scheduled first team trials for Tuesday 4th and Thursday 6th June 2019 for those who would like to be part of their journey to the National League. Anyone interested should register by visiting www.eastleighfc.com/ladies-football/
