Fleming Park is ready for the summer
The outdoor paddling pool at Fleming Park is scheduled to open today (Saturday 25 May) in time for the Whitsun Bank Holiday weekend and half term.
The popular summertime attraction is provided by the Council in partnership with the nearby Leisure Centre and thousands of local families flock to the pool and play area in sunny weather. The paddling pool, that is free for the public to use, includes a number of water features for the children to enjoy and is also next to a large play area and sandpit providing an ideal facility for all the community.
Chair of Eastleigh Local Area Committee Cllr Paul Bicknell said, “The paddling pool is a great local facility and is hugely popular with families with young children and of course it’s absolutely free for everyone to use.”
The council reminds users that when they are visiting the paddling pool and enjoying the fine weather to take precautions to avoid harmful sunrays that can damage our skin and in particular that of young children. remember to use sunblock (minimum 15 SPF), wear a hat, seek the shade between 11am-3pm and drink water.
It is also recommended that children playing in and around the paddling pool and play area wear suitable footwear.
The facility has a number of sunshades on the site and also a number of holsters on the fence for people to bring their own sunshades or parasols.
The paddling pool, that benefits from a quality water chlorination and a filtration system, is open from 10am -7pm each day and will remain open all summer until early September.
