Police warn on Fair Oak thefts from cars

Police fear cars are being left unlocked. Thieves steal tin of mints from one vehicle.

Police are warning residents in Fair Oak to make sure their cars are locked after a spate of thefts from cars in the Fair Oak area.

The Police have had eight reports of theft from vehicles recently, affecting cars on Strawberry Mead, Orchard Road, Witt Road, Mortimers Lane, Spring Close and Elderberry Close.

Incidents have mainly happened overnight on May 27 and 28 but one occurred during the day.

Sunglasses, handbag, a DVD player and even a tin of mints have been taken.

Some cars have been entered but no damage left – police say they are concerned cars may have been left unlocked.
