The Spitfires and Southampton Women’s FC are delighted to announce a brand new partnership between the two clubs.
This collaboration between the two clubs is aimed at enhancing the women’s game in the Southampton area and work towards the development of the game.
Next season the partnership will see Southampton play a selection of their competitive games at the Silverlake Stadium.
Eastleigh currently play their trade in the National League, step one of the men’s game, while Southampton are in the FA Women’s National League South-West, tier four of the women’s.
Kenny Amor, Eastleigh’s Chief Executive, told the official website:
‘The partnership between the two clubs will only be good for the women’s game in the local area. ‘We have over 130 girls and ladies playing regular football at Eastleigh FC, so collaborating with another local female club means we are able to learn from each other and utilise the skill set of coaches from both clubs.’
For Southampton, Chairwoman Emma Delaney said:
‘There are a lot of synergies for the two clubs working together.‘The development and quality of women’s and girl’s football in Hampshire is growing exponentially.‘Eastleigh share our vision of offering opportunities for females in football.’
