Danny Hollands scored twice as Eastleigh beat Solihull Moors to secure their first National League win since the opening day of the season.

Eastleigh’s captain stroked a shot into the corner of the net from Tyrone Barnett’s pass to give the visitors an 18th-minute lead.

Rob Atkinson, who had earlier seen a 25-yard shot tipped over by home keeper Ryan Boot, almost doubled the lead just before half-time, heading Jack Payne’s corner into the side-netting.

But Atkinson created the second goal five minutes into the second half with a fine solo run, setting up former Bournemouth midfielder Hollands to curl a shot past Boot.

Alex Nicholls headed over a great chance to pull one back for the home side, before Mitch Hancox drilled into the net with 21 minutes left.

Moors almost scored again right at the end, but Alex Gudger’s header was cleared off the line by Cav Miley.

Tim Flowers’ fourth-placed side could not find an equaliser and missed the chance to close the gap on National League leaders Woking.
