Fans of the spontaneous and unpredictable will enjoy the hilarious and clever Showstopper! The Improvised Musical, which heads to Theatre Royal Winchester on Thursday 26 September.
Created on the spot from audience suggestions, each show is new and unique. The company, The Showstoppers, asks theatre-goers for the genre and setting of the story and in front of their eyes the actors perform an all-singing, all-dancing musical with clever plot twists and hilarious characters.
Showstopper! The Improvised Musical was born after co-creators, Dylan Emery, and Adam Meggido – who holds a world record in improvisation – took actors with little or no experience of improvisation and within a week attempted to get them to perform an hour-long musical to a packed house. After a successful show, they brought together a group of professionals and created the show – which ran in London’s West End and in April 2016 became the first improv show to be nominated for, and win, an Olivier Award.
A clever comedic production made with audience participation and filled with song and dance numbers, Showstopper! The Improvised Musical is a must-see.
Showstopper! The Improvised Musical will be at Theatre Royal Winchester on Thursday 26 September, at 7.30pm. Find out more, or book tickets, at theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call the Box Office on 01962 840 440.
