Eastleigh Borough Council’s Economic Development Team is inviting local companies to attend a business breakfast briefing on subjects including air quality, expanding abroad and promoting healthy eating in the workplace. It takes place on Thursday 7 November at East Horton Golf Club.
The event will open with a healthy breakfast and the opportunity to browse some of the stalls from local ‘Made in Eastleigh’ businesses whilst networking.
Following a welcome and introduction, attendees will get the chance to hear from the Air Quality panel made up of representatives from the Council and other external companies. Bluestar buses and Ageas Insurance will join Eastleigh Borough Council’s Pollution Control Officer, Isabel Hessey, to discuss the Council’s Air Quality Action Plan while the Solent LEP and Greentech South will outline their latest funding schemes.
Plans to introduce commercial food waste recycling in the Borough will be presented by the Council’s Head of Direct Services, Paul Naylor.
Ben Raby, Head of the South East Region at the Department of International Trade will provide details on the support available to help businesses to internationalise.
The theme of the final panel is Healthy Eating in the Workplace with contributions from Hampshire County Council Catering Services and local company Lifestyling Kitchen, who provide healthier lunches prepared and tailored to an individual’s needs and delivered direct to them either at home or in the work place.
Cabinet lead for Economy, Councillor Derek Pretty said:
‘The Council’s Economic Development team provides a range of support for businesses across the Borough and these meetings are a fantastic way for people to network and share advice with other people on the same wavelength. We have a great selection of companies already show-casing their locally grown businesses which are having a positive impact on our economy.’
