The Spitfires were forced into a replay in the FA Cup 4th qualifying round after a goal-less draw at Park View Road.

Ben Strevens’ side could not find the answer to the stalemate after a combative display which reaped little reward on a day that was marred by a serious looking injury to Michael Green.

Eastleigh were nearly undone as the hosts got their first chance of the game as Adam Coombes failed to get on the end of a deep cross.

Two minutes later, and it was Miley looking to provide again, who saw his long ball flicked on by Tyrone Barnett into the hands of Wings’ keeper Daniel Wilks.

The 25th minute saw the end of the day for Marcus Barnes as he came off with a muscular injury, replaced by Ben Williamson.

The star of Eastleigh’s half was Max Stryjek, who pulled off an impressive string of saves meaning that the sides went in level at the break.

Early into the second half, Ben Strevens’ side showed their intent as Williamson broke the offside trap but failed to get his shot away.

Barnett came closer in the 50th minute with a looping header going narrowly over the crossbar from a Jack Payne corner.

On the hour mark, a stretcher had to be called for Michael Green who looked to be in considerable discomfort. He was replaced by Charlie Seaman.

Anthony Cook believed he had won a penalty for the home side in the 77th minute after a challenge from Seaman, but referee Ryan Atkin wanted no part of it.

In the 90th minute Miley could have won the game with a shot that fizzed narrowly past the right-hand post.

Eastleigh or Welling Untied are number 66 for FA Cup First Round Hat later this evening on BBC Two at 7.10pm. Both teams will face off once again at The Silverlake Stadium on Tuesday evening in a replay.
