Fans of adventures at sea will enjoy Tall Tree Theatre’s family show, Lily and the Albatross, which heads to Theatre Royal Winchester on Sunday 13 October.
A story about battling the elements and overcoming adversity, it opens with Lily and her family on an old fishing boat in the middle of the wild and remote ocean. They pass the time sharing exciting stories and making merry music. The water controls their calm daily routine, but one day Lily gazes at the birds above and notices a storm approaching with whipping winds that see the family needing to pull together – and Lily taking a leap of faith – to get their boat moving toward safety.
Brought to the stage by Tall Tree Theatre – a company that combines large bespoke wooden and metal puppets with live music and touching story-telling – Lily and the Albatross is about achieving the seemingly impossible and never letting go of your childhood dreams.
Featuring live music, including shanty style songs, puppet mastery and visual performance, this is a heart-felt story that will speak to generations of all ages.
Free craft activities will be available to take part in, in the theatre’s café, before and after the show for ticket holders.
Lily and the Albatross will be at Theatre Royal Winchester from Sunday 13 October, at 11.30am. Find out more, or book tickets, at theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call the Box Office on 01962 840 440.
