Ben Strevens’ Spitfires brushed past Weston-super-Mare in the FA Cup fourth round qualifying match at The Silverlake Stadium in a 3-1 victory.

After a goalless first half, three second half goals from Dan Smith, Ben House and Tom Bearwish were enough to book Eastleigh into the first round of the FA Cup despite a late consolation from Chris Knowles.

With half an hour left in the game, the Spitfires took the lead from a Dan Smith penalty after Smart was poorly taken down in the box.

House made it 2-0 with a superb angled shot to the top left corner to double the lead with just 20 minutes remaining.

Tom Bearwish was played into tremendous space after a thrilling pass from midfield to slot the ball into the corner for his first goal of the season.

The visitors managed to scrape one back after a well headed effort by Chris Knowles sailed past the keeper from a corner, however The Spitfires kept it 3-1 and booked their spot in tonight’s FA Cup first round draw. Eastleigh are ball number 73 and the draw will take place at 7pm on BT Sport 1 and BBC 2.
