Live Review: Aladdin at Theatre Royal Winchester

Theatre Royal Winchester’s annual traditional family pantomime, Aladdin, is well underway and it certainly did not disappoint! We managed to catch a performance of the show last week as each actor gave it 110% to entertain the eager and interactive audience – by Raymond James.

Rikki Chamberlain played both Palace Sergeant and The Genie of the Lamp who was for me the stand out of the show. The Scotsman certainly entertained the crowd and provided plenty of laughs throughout the performance.

The brilliant Julian Eardley played an important and the hilarious part of Widow Twankey while as Winchester Theatre Royal favourite Ed Thorpe returned to the venue as Wishee Washee.

Refreshingly Libby Gore played a female role of Aladdin as the London based former West End actress played a pivotal role within the panto and she certainly played that role with great passion.

Overall the show was superb and I suggest any family to book now with the show running until 2nd January 2022. You can book tickets here https://www.theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk/whats-on/aladdin.
