Hampshire Highways will be carrying out essential repairs to highway drains along Hamble Lane, Bursledon, for seven days from Tuesday 13 July 2021.
Three-way temporary traffic lights will be required to allow the work to undertaken safely and these will be in place at the junction of Hamble Lane and Portsmouth Road until the repairs are completed – expected to be Tuesday 20 July 2021. As a consequence, there may be delays at peak times.
Councillor Russell Oppenheimer, Hampshire County Council’s Executive Member for Highways Operations, said:
“Looking after Hampshire’s extensive road network is one of our top priorities. These repairs are vital in helping to keep our highway network safe and effective. Every effort will be made to complete the work quickly and efficiently and to limit the time the temporary traffic lights will need to be in place. I would like to take this opportunity to apologise for any disruption caused and I would urge people to plan their journeys carefully in advance if they have to travel in this area.”
Electronic variable messaging boards will be erected on Portsmouth Road, Hamble Lane and both the Hound Road and Windhover roundabouts to advise motorists of the proposed works and the start date.
