Eastleigh fans of ITVs ‘Britain’s got Talent’ will be hoping that local dance duo Kai Widdrington and Natalia Jeved are in win a chance of winning the series after they clinched a place in next Saturday’s live final.
The pair, who are still in their teens, live in Southampton but have strong Eastleigh connections.
Not only do they train in Hedge End, but Kai grew up in Chandlers Ford and studies at Barton Peveril.
Up to 9 Million viewers watched them put together a sizzling routine during the live semi final which they danced to “Are you gonna be my Girl” by Jet.
Put into the final three acts to qualify on the night by the viewer’s vote they had to endure a nail baiting head to head with teenage warbler Paige Turley but three out of the four judges put Kai and Natalia through with only David Walliams voting against.
Both dancers appeared stunned by their success with Natalia telling hosts Ant and Dec they ‘didn’t expect it’ and Kai saying he was ‘speechless’.
Afterwards they were thanked their new army of new twitter fans telling them ‘You are all awesome’
Saturday’s final should prove testing as they will be up against strong favourites – ‘poperatic’ singing duo Johnathon and Charlotte and the dancing dog act Ashley and Pudsey.
They now face a busy week of rehearsals and interviews – they have already appeared on Daybreak this morning and will be interviewed live on BBC Radio 1 at 12.15.
