There’s a new superhero in town after an Eastleigh girl said her mum is the new Wonder Woman and dressed like her as a Care Worker for her school’s Superhero Day.
When Autumn Allen, 9, was told she had to come up with a costume idea, she didn’t have to think long about who she wanted to dress as.
Autumn’s mum, Kayleigh, has been working as a Care Worker on the frontline for Bluebird Care Winchester, Eastleigh and Romsey throughout the Covid-19 pandemic providing care and support to people in their own homes as an alternative to a residential care home.
The schoolgirl said:
“My mummy saves lives and is a hero. I’m very proud of the job she does and I was really excited to go to school dressed like her.”
Bluebird Care provided a mini tunic uniform, with a lanyard and her very own ID badge so she could look just like her mum.
Autumn’s mum Kayleigh said:
“I was so proud that she wanted to dress as a Care Worker. We are just doing our job, but it’s lovely that she sees us as heroes, and she looked great too!”
