Police from Eastleigh and Hedge End raced to the scene of a break in at Ford Social club in the early hours of Friday morning and apprehended a suspect.
At around 00.30hrs police on November 23 thieves in smashed their way through the roof of the social club using a sledge hammer setting of the alarm.
A fruit machine had been attacked and bar shutters had been forced open. Staff checking the building disturbed the burglars but managed to stop one man from escaping, he was arrested by police who were quickly on the scene.
Considerable damage was caused to the roof of the building and inside the bar where it’s believed at least £120 had been stolen.
Police believe at least another three people were involved in the burglary and are checking CCTV on site and in the nearby area to try and identify further suspects.
Later on Friday an 18 year-old man from Southampton was charged with burglary and possessing a controlled drug and was bailed to appear at Southampton Magistrates Court on 19 December.
In 2007 the club had £12,000 stolen at knifepoint by masked men.
