Sold Out AshFest set to take place this weekend in aid of Cancer Research UK

Having already beaten breast cancer in 2019, Ashleen Bateman was sadly diagnosed in February this year with incurable metastatic cancer of the spine and liver.

Ashleen had a major spinal surgery on Valentine’s Day to stabilise her spine with metal pins and rods, followed by intense radiotherapy on the spine to blast away any remaining cancer cells. Now currently undertaking weekly chemotherapy Ashleen is hopeful that it will shrink the aggressive tumours in her liver and will aid keeping the cancer at bay.

Music has always been a huge part of Ashleen’s life and In light of this, and to raise money for Cancer Research UK, she will be holding AshFest on Saturday 24th July from 2:00pm at The Linden Tree, School Road, Bursledon, Southampton.

The event has already raised nearly three times the target of £1,500 and despite it selling all 150 tickets you can still donate here

AshFest will be a day of (loud) music, food, dancing and general merriment as Ashleen will perform her first ever live DJ set! Friend Gareth “Chunk” Nichols, will also be DJ-ing throughout the day and providing the event with lots of entertainment, whilst the fabulous owners of The Linden Tree (Stewart & Julie) will be organising a BBQ on the day with all proceeds going to Cancer Research UK.
