Wife Pays Tribute to Crash Victim

"He had the most gorgeous, infectious, cheeky smile that lit up the room"

A grieving widow has paid a poignant tribute to her motorcyclist husband tragically killed in a road accident at Hedge End as police named the victim as Jimi McIndoe of Ludlow Road, Bitterne.

Mr McIndoe, 37, died on Sunday when his Yamaha was in collision with a John Deere tractor and trailer in Bubb Lane.

The incident happened at 3pm, sadly, Mr McIndoe died at the scene.

Paying tribute on behalf of the family, Mr McIndoe’s wife Jackie, said:

“Jimi was one of a kind. He had the most gorgeous, infectious, cheeky smile that lit up the room.

“He was a loving husband and devoted father to three beautiful children and two step children.

“He would do anything for anyone and nothing was too much trouble.

“Jimi lived life to the full. Jimi loved motorbikes and riding was his passion, just like his hero Valentino Rossi.

“He also loved football and supported Manchester United with his dad Colin since he was a young lad.

“Jimi was a spirit who loved life, his family and all his friends.

“He will be sadly missed by all of us. This world will be an empty place without our darling Jimi.”

Family and friends have also left floral tributes and a football shirt at the scene.

The accident is the second fatality along Bubb Lane in the last ten months.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw either vehicle prior to the crash, to contact PC Claire Miller at the Road Death Investigation Team at Eastleigh on 101, quoting Operation Melton.
