Botley Folk say PUSH off!

Botley Action Parish Group Poster

The Botley Parish Action Group has just published a feasibility study into government plans to build 6,000 new homes which they say would blight the area of Botley, Hedge End, Durley and Curdridge.

They claim that PUSH ( the Partnership for Urban South Hampshire) and Eastleigh Council are proceeding with a plan which their study proves would have an adverse effect on the area’s infrastructure while also damaging the local ecology.

The campaign against the proposed massive new development has drawn support from all quarters including the Conservative PPC for Eastleigh Maria Hutchings, who is a local resident and is reported as saying it was:

“…imperative that we do everything we can to put a halt to this badly thought-out proposal…”

A copy of the study can be downloaded here

Are the people fighting the development Eco Warriors or just Nimbys?

Is PUSH addressing vital future housing needs or just another EU sponsored Quango in the pocket of the construction Industry?

Please tell us what you think!

I thought the Lib.Dems were against this development,if ‘Focus’and Chris Huhne are to be believed! Wasn’t it the Eastleigh Borough Council which sighted this SDA in the first place and now want to look as though they are opposed, as they will lose too many votes if they don’t? Why are they proceeding with their feasability studies if they are opposed? Please stop trying to hoodwink the electorate.
