Spitfires light up Dorchester

After a fantastic FA Trophy win away to Worcester last Monday, Ian Baird’s Spitfires secured all three points today home to Dorchester Town.

Chris Holland and Luke Byles returned to the starting line up with Jamie White released from the club.

With both Jamie White and Brett Williams parting ways in a week, Ian Baird is due to sign Justin Bennett on Tuesday from Gosport Borough on loan for the rest of the season.

Two times leading Southern League Division South and West leading goal scorer Justin Bennett was due to play for Eastleigh at the start 2006/2007 but he got injured and never started the season with The Spitfires.The Striker will be available for Tuesday’s Blue Square Bet South match away to St Albans City.

A crowd of 550 saw the new spitfire on top of the Eastleigh club house today that lights up, Mike Andrews one of the directors at Eastleigh FC got the spitfire that was originally on the band stand at Eastleigh recreation ground.

Tommy Jordan opened the goal scoring of the day after a lot of Eastleigh pressure; the captain scored a header from a corner that flew into the back of the Dorchester net in the 17th minute.

Richard Graham done well to get past two defenders to curl a shot in the back of the net eight minutes later and Jamie Slabber scored an open goal in the last kick of the game in the 91st minute. The Spitfires are only one point away from the play-offs and eight points away from first.

    this might catch on wiht other clubs making neon signs out of there mascots.imagine seeing a giant fish on top of fratten park
