Jack Stapleton says local government can benefit from the fresh ideas and new thinking offered by the Green Party.
Horton Heath resident Jack Stapleton – the Green party candidate for Fair Oak and Horton Heath in Thursday’s local election – says fresh thinking and new ideas could transform local government by involving everybody in the decision making process.
The Fair Oak and Horton Heath ward, which is already subject to new housing development, falls within ‘Option C” in the council’s Draft Local Plan which will see up to an additional 6,000 new homes built in the area. Stapleton said that while they understood the need for housing “the party is against destructive and thoughtless development.”
The Green Party are standing candidates in ten of the 13 borough wards that are holding a poll on May 2.
Also standing in Fair Oak and Horton Heath are:
Martin Lyon – Ukip
Michelle Marsh – Liberal Democrat
Jill Payne – The Labour Party
Steve Broomfield – The Conservative Party
